Who is Leah Scott?
As well as being a level 2 Wim Hof Method® instructor, breathwork specialist, mountain guide and self-confessed nature lover and mother of two, Leah Scott is also on a mission to spread the word about her biohacking tools of choice.
By providing tools to empower people to make changes in their lives, Leah hopes to show others what she learned first-hand – that it is possible to live a life of connection and health in body, mind and spirit.
Immune fitness – what is it and why is it so important?
Immune fitness goes beyond avoiding the coughs and colds lurking around every corner. It’s about maintaining a level of immune response that can be relied upon, rather than reacting once the symptoms have already appeared.

For Leah, immune fitness impacts every area of life:
“Over the years I have come to realise that nurturing my mind and body and, therefore, supporting my immune health, translates to how I cope with, navigate, interact and embody every moment in my life. Most people think that our immune health is simply there to fight off colds and viruses but, in fact, it influences every system, as we are a SYSTEM. Looking after my immune health has been one of the greatest benefits to living my most optimal life.”
Speaking of lifelong health, Leah explains why the focus on planning is so vital:
“Functioning well on a day-to-day basis is my priority. It is essential for me to be the best mum, partner and role model in my industry, as I embody an alternative way of life. What I have learnt on my journey is that becoming disciplined in the micro, day-to-day habits has translated to a healthy, strong and happy life over weeks, months and years.
Focusing on a healthy balance in the physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological areas of your life can be an excellent way to make your journey less stressful in the short-term, but also less likely to create serious health problems later in life.”
A holistic approach to immune fitness
While extreme cold exposure and breathwork can be a game-changer, Leah explains that there are some other daily choices that form a cornerstone of good health:
“Being a mother of two and running my own business means it is important for me to look after my health and wellbeing. A healthy diet, together with specific supplements helps me to function well each day. I try to take a balanced approach by making simple lifestyle changes to benefit my health, without excessively sacrificing time or becoming too overwhelming.”
The life-changing benefits of cold exposure, breathwork and nature therapy
For Leah, a major life event opened the door to a new way of doing things, as she explains:
“My divorce six years ago was a catalyst for incredible change. I was suffering from extreme anxiety, stress and depression. Amongst this, a series of deep realisations gave me the urge and the freedom to seek out alternative ways to improve my life.
That’s how I found the Wim Hof Method® (or maybe it found me). Of all the biohacks I explored to improve my health and wellbeing, nothing else came close. For me, the combination of breathwork, cold exposure training and time in nature is the perfect balance of medicine, mindfulness and magic.
Standing on an icy river bank tests my courage, determination and faith in myself. I finish my daily practice feeling electric, alive, aware and ready to take on whatever the world throws at me.”
There are many benefits to the practices that Leah has experienced in herself and helped others to experience:
- Physical transformation
- Positive mental attitude
- Improved mood
- Rebalanced immune response
- Enhanced creativity
- Increased productivity
- Improved sleep quality
- Better relationships
Cold water therapy retreats
For anyone who has been considering trying a new method to improve their health and wellbeing, a cold water therapy retreat could be just the kind of kickstart needed. Leah provides her insights into why a retreat isn’t just about physical health, it can also be life-changing:
“From birth, we have a powerful innate ability to survive and thrive in our environment. These abilities have enabled us to live, learn and love side-by-side with nature. Over time, through our lifestyles and life choices, we’ve lost touch with these abilities. We’ve become overweight, stressed, depressed, addicted and burnt out. We’ve insulated ourselves from nature and from our inner wild selves. These retreats are about creating a connection to that part of ourselves again. They change people’s perceptions of their life. It is a reconnection to those things that significantly improve your life and the world as a whole.
Great things in life can be achieved if you are not afraid to make a mistake and improve yourself by learning new things. Having the interest to enhance your knowledge and improve your skills will inspire and motivate you to become innovative and creative when making life changes and choices.”
